Clayton has coined the phrase, "Does that make your heart happy?" Every time that he picks a flower for me or tells me that he was a sweet boy at school, he says, "Does that make your heart happy?" Well, in these last few (less than comfortable) days of pregnancy, I have been trying to focus on all the many things that make my heart happy. Here are just a few:
1. The paper chain that we made to help Clayton count down the days until Drew was born used to hang to the floor...
Now it has only 4 little links (and an extra that says, "Drew is here!")
2. I'm savoring these last few days of feeling Drew's kicks and movements - they are a constant reminder that our baby will be strong and healthy. I couldn't ask for more!
3. The cooler weather that has been such a welcomed relief from a HOT summer.
4. Remembering the look of overwhelming emotion and joy that Wade had on his face when I was walking down the aisle to meet my groom. I saw that same precious look when he saw Clayton for the first time. I can't wait to see it again in just 4 short days!
5. Having the privilege of taking the Lord's Supper this morning in church. It's always a good reminder of what Christ did for us, and makes me feel so blessed that He died for me.
6. All the funny things that Clayton says during the day. He cracks me up! Here are a few of the latest:
* "Mama, you're the most prettiest girl in my whole life!" He just melts my heart...
* (After making a match during a heated mother/son game of Memory), "Boo-yah! That's what I'm talkin' 'bout!" Where does he get this stuff?!?!?
* (While talking to our next door neighbor), "Mr. Scott, if you pick your nose, you can't hold Baby Drew." We've been talking a lot about germs lately. :)
* Wade & Clayton were playing catch in the front yard. Wade made a not-so-great pitch. Clayton replied with, "You let the team down, Dad!"
Those are some of the things that make this Mama's heart VERY happy! :)
