Bible Drill - Church Drill

Our drillers did so well at Church Drill!  All will progress to Association Drill.  So very proud of them!

State Bible Drill - April 8, 2016

Clayton's score at Association Bible Drill qualified him to participate in State Bible Drill.  This year, our group was so big, that our drillers were splint into two separate drills.  Clayton was in with the smaller group that drilled later than the others.  Clayton did AWESOME in the drill!  I was so proud of him.  He had a perfect score up until the Key Passage section of the drill.  At the state level, the students are given a brand new Bible and are only given a few minutes to break it in.  This makes the drill even more difficult.  The caller called A Shepherd's Song.  The kids have 10 seconds to remember where the key passage is and to locate it in their Bible.  At the last second, C found the passage and stepped forward.  Whew!  When he looked down, though, he realized that the pages of his Bible had gotten stuck together and he was a page away.  He raised his hand indicating that he had made an error.  Bless his heart, you could see the disappointment all over his face.  :(

My boy pulled it together quickly and completed the drill without a single additional error.  I was so proud of him!  He got 23 out of 24 calls correct, earning a Superior rating.  Even more important than his score, he has learned 25 Bible verses, 10 key passages, and can locate any book of the Bible in 10 seconds.  That is the real prize!

Association Bible Drill - March 6, 2016

Clayton participated in our church's Association Bible Drill on March 6th.  He did such a wonderful job!  I am so proud of the dedication that he has shown this year to committing Scripture to memory.  Wade & I both loved Bible Drill as a child, so it thrills my heart to see our child doing the same thing.  :)

State Bible Drill

My Clayton has done soooo well for his first year of Bible Drill!  He has studied and worked so hard!  All of that time and effort paid off at State Drill.  My boy made State Winner Perfect!!!  He got all 24 calls correct and within the 10 second time frame.  Most importantly, he has memorized 25 verses, 10 key passages, and can find any book of the Bible within 10 seconds.  I could not be prouder of him!  Glory to God!
