Wade and I have been talking lately about how we need to make more time for date nights. Like so many other young parents , we don't have the time, money, or babysitters to go out whenever we choose. We came up with a solution... lunch dates. We decided to go to lunch once a week together. It is great! We go on one of the days that Clayton is at Mother's Day Out, so we don't need a babysitter. The lunch menu is also quite a bit cheaper than the dinner menu, an added bonus. Yesterday we went to Love and War in Texas. Yum! We talked and ate together - just the two of us. I forgot how much fun it is to "date" my husband!
In other news, Clayton fell on Saturday night and busted his head open. He was standing in a chair (which he knows he isn't supposed to do) and drinking Wade's coke (another no-no). He slipped, poured the coke EVERYWHERE, and hit the back of his head on the chair on his way down. There was coke, literally, all over my kitchen. It was on the floor, on the blinds, on the cabinets - everywhere. He was screaming in pain, and I noticed that there was blood on his shirt. There was that brief, but terrifying, moment while Wade and I were trying to assess where the blood was coming from. We finally figured out that it was from the back of his head. There was a lot of blood, and I was just certain that we were going to have to make a trip to the ER. Luckily, after a few minutes of holding pressure, the bleeding stopped. Whew - that was a close one! Clayton was more upset about the fact that he was covered in Coke. He kept screaming, " My shorts are wet!" So... Daddy gave him a bath and I mopped up the kitchen. What are we going to do with this boy?!?!?......

ahhh my jaw dropped when i saw that he split his head open, but in the back on my mind I knew he would be fine...can't go wrong when your mom is a nurse! : ) but I'm glad to hear he was ok and more upset about being covered in coke than his head bleeding!
