We have spent months debating, stressing, discussing, and praying about selling our house. As many of you know, Wade has been commuting 45 miles each way to work since August. We finally decided to bite the bullet and put our house on the market. We figured that it would take months and were dreading the entire process. Below is a timeline of the events of our house selling experience thus far. :)
- Wednesday night: Realtor picks up the paperwork to get the process started and to take pictures of the house
- Thursday afternoon @ 3:30 they came and put the sign in the front yard
- Friday morning the MLS information went online
- Friday @ noon the showing company called to say that someone would come to look at the house between 1:30-2:30
- Clayton and I rushed home from the pool to vacuum, open all the blinds, and make it "show ready"
- Friday @ 4pm the showing company called to say that someone would come to look at the house between 5-7
- Friday night @6:30 the realtor called to tell us that the first people that looked at the house submitted a contract that was a great offer (YAY!!!)
- Saturday we countered, the house showed 2 more times, and then they accepted our counter offer
It was a whirlwind few days, but it seems to be going really well. It turns out that the buyers go to our church and we know them (they didn't realize that it was our house b/c I had taken down all of the pictures). They are a very sweet couple and I hope that they enjoy our home as much as we have. They needed to close by August 10th (that's right, folks, three weeks from now!!!!), which we agreed to. So... we are scrambling to find an apartment to live in while we search for the perfect house. Hopefully, all the pieces of the puzzle will continue to fall into place. I am just thrilled that I don't have to keep trying to keep our house spotless with our crazy kiddo. :)
