Devon was one of my first friends when I started working at Children's in June of 2002. We were brand new nurses together in the same orientation class. We worked on the same unit in the PICU, and instantly just clicked. She was my friend at a pivotal point in my life - transitioning from student to having my first job in my chosen profession. We laughed together in the good times and kept each other sane when life in the PICU got crazy. We went through a lot together - being the newbies together trying to find our way, Devon getting married, me having Clayton, her going back to school. She was a big part of my life as an early 20-something. I love Devon.
Devon went on to become a Nurse Practitioner and I quit to stay home full time with Owen. Even though we haven't seen each other much since I left the hospital back in September of 2007, I still think of Devon often. Recently, she and her hubby decided to move to Seattle and she got a job there. I'm so sad to see her go. :( I wish her the very best of luck in her new home, of course. Our lose is Seattle's gain! I was glad to get to see her one last time before she left for the Pacific Northwest.
I'll miss you, Devie!!!
