I was awoken this morning by the phone ringing. I glanced at the clock, through glazed over eyes, and saw that it was 7am. I saw my friend Abbey's name on the caller id and got worried that something was wrong. I answered the phone and she said, "I'm sorry to wake you, but you have to get the boys up and go outside. It's snowing!!!" I didn't really compute what she was saying, so I rolled over and closed my eyes. A few minutes later, it sunk in. I went to the window and saw big, huge flakes!
I knew that Clayton would sleep until at least 8:00, but I didn't want him to miss it. So, against my better judgement, I woke him up at 7:15. I told him that it was snowing and he said, "Are you serious?!?!?!" By the gleam in his eyes, I knew that I had made a good decision in waking him up. :)
We bundled up and went outside. He was over the moon excited about the wintery mix! He ran around sticking his tongue out to catch the flakes, making snowballs, and saying, "I can't believe that it is snowing!!!" The last time that it snowed, he was 2. (Click HERE to read that post.) He remembered it, though! He asked me if we could "sled" outside. How does he remember that?!?!
At 7:45 I woke up my sweet Drew for round 2 of the snowy fun. That boy is my sleeper, for sure! It is very rare for him to wake up before 8:30 or 9:00. I woke him out of a dead sleep in his warm, cozy crib, and bundled him up for the freezing cold weather. Thankfully, he LOVED it and I didn't regret waking him up, either.
Loving the snowy weather! Clayton said, "I think that Nick (our Elf on the Shelf) brought the snow with him from the North Pole. Maybe so, sweet boy... Maybe so...
Catching snowflakes
He was threatening to throw a snowball at his Mama. He had that evil look in his eyes. Stinker!
Whoosh - he got me!
I had to document that we were actually in Texas at our house. Ha!
I stuck Drew in his car seat so that I could put his shoes on, and he was smiling so big! He could sense that something great was about to happen. Ha!
I bought their matching coats on clearance last year. They were originally $50, and I got them for $12.99. Yes! I took a gamble hoping that it would actually get cold enough for them to wear them. Good thing that I did!
My little snow baby :)
After playing, Clayton got to drink hot chocolate for breakfast. He was lovin' life! (Kendra: Please notice the Neuvant mug. That's for you, girl!)

What fun the boys had. That elf is pretty powerful. I loved Drew's first snow video, and Clayton is typical Clayton. He makes me laugh. We are scheduled to have snow Friday. But this is Houston after all. The weather forcast cannot be trusted.
That video is priceless! I want to squish his little cheekies!!
Love all the pictures...and that video is truly priceless! Those were two cutie snow babes! It was a winter wonderland, for sure!
Oh, how I can't wait for Friday to see if we get more SNOW! Oh the anticipation...:)!
I wish we were neighbors! I was outside taking it all in on a quiet street. It would have been fun to enjoy the snow with Clayton and Drew. I was so excited to have some real, Colorado-like snow! It makes this really feel like the Christmas season. :)
Yay for snow! We're keeping our fingers crossed that we might get some on Saturday. Will and I were going to be brave and run in a 5K, but I'm not running with it raining and/or snowing and 35 degrees. Hope you guys get some more fun to play in!
I showed this to Anna when she woke up from her nap--we have now watched it 8 times!!! She laughs harder each time she watches it. Silly girl! Thanks for the post!
Drew looks like the Stay Puff Marsh-mellow Man from Ghostbusters!
