Our Drew is EIGHT years old! What a precious blessing he is to our family! We are so thankful for him and his sweet little life!
Grammie & Papaw came to town the weekend of Drew's birthday, so he got his gifts a bit early. :)
He got to pick our after church lunch spot, and he chose Babe's. He was a good sport with their chicken dance birthday hub-bub. He hates being the center of attention, so I was very proud of him for playing along! He was half way through his chicken fried steak when he said, "This is soooo good! Can we have Babe's again for dinner???" Ha!
At 7 years old, Drew:
* Is 4'4.5" (84%) and weighs 73 pounds (95%).
* He wears a size medium (8) shirt and size 8 pants. His shoes are a size 4.
* He has lost 8 teeth - 4 on top, 4 on bottom.
* Drew is still my tenderhearted, shy little guy. But... he is coming into his own with age. ;) His teachers say that he talks in class, and he is much less passive with his brothers than he used to be. Ha!
* Drew is a hard worker at school and makes excellent grades. I love his brain!
* My boy got my dry sense of humor. He tends to mutter one liners under his breath, and I think he is so hilarious!
* Drew is still playing baseball and continues to improve. It is so fun to watch him progress as a ball player!
* He is still very much a technology guy and prefers to be playing on the computer or his DS as opposed to playing outside.
* Drew has gotten very into Pokemon Go. He knows all of the creatures names (Lickatongue?!?!) and stats. He has tried to explain it to me, but I just don't get it. He thinks it is the best game ever, though!

My Sweet Drew,
You are EIGHT! I can't believe how big you have gotten! It seems like just yesterday that you were my tiny little pumpkin baby. Time really does fly!
You are the sweetest soul, my Boy. You internalize things and aren't one to talk about your feelings. You bottle things up and hold things in. I've had to really pry to figure out what is going on in your sweet little head. Here's the thing, though... I get it, Dude! I'm the same way. I don't like talking about what is bothering me. I'd rather just keep it to myself. But, I have learned that sometimes it is good to get things off of your chest. There is some freedom in just letting it out and allowing someone else to bear your burden . I hope that you will let me do that for you. I will always be there to listen to you, precious boy. You can always share your troubles with me. I pray that you feel open to do so.
You are so crazy smart, my Drew! I never have to worry about your tests or grades. You always do so well! God has given you a beautiful brain, and I know that He will use it for His glory. I can't wait to see what you choose to study in school and what profession you choose. I mean... I actually can wait, so please don't rush, but I do think it will be cool to watch! ;)
I have sure loved watching you play baseball! You are becoming such a good little player! I am most proud of the way that you encourage your teammates and cheer them on in their successes. I can hear you in the dugout building up the other players, and that matters more than anything that you do on the field.
Drew, I sure hope that the next year is a great one for you! I pray that the Lord continues to mold you into exactly who He wants you to be. You are such a gem, Drew, and I just love being your Mama. I am so grateful that you are mine!
I love you to the moon and back!
Mama
