Visiting Santa

Last night we took the boys to the Gaylord to see Santa. What a fun night we had!

We started with a visit to see St. Nick. The boys were both thrilled to see the jolly ole chap! Drew ran up to him first and gave him a big hug, shouting, "Hanta! Hanta!" as he ran. It was adorable! One of those moments that you wish that you could relive over and over... :)

Santa asked the boys what they wanted for Christmas. Drew said, "-Istmas Lights!" That has been his answer every single time that we have asked. I guess that Santa better hook Drew up with a strand or two of Christmas lights. Ha! Clayton said that he wanted a skateboard (we are now accepting donations to the Carpenter Family ER Copay Fund!) and that Santa "could pick whatever else that he thought I [Clayton] would like." Silly kid!

I had clipped a coupon for the Gaylord's new "Snow" experience. They have a Big Hill and a Bunny Slope for the kids to tube down. We used our handy dandy coupon and bought the kids each an unlimited run pass. There was a mixed reaction from our two...

Drew was not feelin' it. He went down the bunny hill a few times, but had to be coaxed up and didn't crack a single smile the whole time. I thought that he would love it, and I was kinda surprised when he didn't.

He was much happier posing for a few pictures and playing with my phone. ;)

Clayton, on the other hand, loved every second. We were there at 5:30 on a Wednesday night and there was hardly anyone else there. No lines! Clayton would get to the bottom and then go right back up. He was in heaven! He must have gone down that hill 35-40 times! He had his favorite lane (because the man at the top was the best at spinning him) and his favorite tube (of course!).

At one point, we saw Clayton smile really big, as he was bounding down the hill, and then he just flew backwards off of the tube. We panicked and so did the workers. We all ran to check him out, and he was just fine. Wade & I pulled him to the side to ask him what happened. He said, "I was trying to do a jump." Lord, have mercy! This child is going to give me a heart attack before it is all said and done!

A few pictures as we walked through the lobby...

We had a super fun night together! It's true what they say - Christmas really is the most wonderful time of the year. :)
