Valentine's Day Pink & Red Dinner - February 14, 2016

We enjoyed our annual Pink & Red dinner for valentine's Day this year.   I hope that my guys all know how much I love them!  It is fun to express how much I adore them through fun decorations and a festive meal.  It is one of my favorite days of the year.  :)

First Grade Manners Ball - February 12, 2016

At our little school, our 1st Graders participate in a manners ball in February.  It is such an adorable event!  The kids dress in fancy clothes, practice their manners, dance to a song that they have learned, recite an acrostic poem, and enjoy a breakfast buffet.

 Cute little line dance.  :)
The kids wrote an acrostic poem using the letters in their name.  Drew used his "long name."  A - Awesome  N - Ninja  D - Dog Lover  R - Really Strong  E - Energetic  W - Wacky
Haha!
 Sweet little table of friends

We love our precious Drew so much!

Student/Faculty Basketball Game - 1/29/16

On January 29th, our little school hosted a Student/Faculty Basketball game to celebrate the end of a great season.  I had to document that my man accomplished a great feat during the halftime show.  They had competitions by age bracket - free throws for the kids and half court shots for the kids.  Wade sunk a half court shot!  What?!?!  So proud!  That shot earned our family a free homework pass and a spirit shirt.  Yeeessss!!!

Good Morning, Texas - January 29, 2016

One of our good friends, Tim Kraftson, is the Director of Operations for the Slim Chickens restaurant chain.  From the first time that we visited Slims, our boys were hooked on their chicken.  They love it!!!

A few weeks ago, Tim called Wade and asked if the boys would like to be on Good Morning Texas for a segment featuring Slim Chickens.  Eating their favorite meal and being on TV?  Um, yes, please!  They were stoked!

Tim had set up the segment to be a wing eating contest - just in time for the Super Bowl.  Fun!  When one of their employees was unable to make it to the segment, Tim asked Wade to fill his spot.  The contest ended up being quite the duel, and Daddy ended up bringing home the prize.  It was such a fun experience!!!  Thank you, Tim, for giving our kids such a neat opportunity!

I had never seen a real TV set - so cool!

I LOVED Carrie McClure!  She was so personable and gracious!  She went out of her way to meet me (I was avoiding the camera/attention like the plague!).  She shared with me that she has 3 sons also, so we were "kindred sisters."  I thought that was so sweet of her to say!

Clayton enjoyed his wings - he had it written all over his face!  Haha!

 In the "green room."

Mr. Tim - what a guy!
We DVR'd the show, and the boys couldn't wait to watch it when they got home.  ;)

What a fun TV debut for my guys!

Fun Run - January 28, 2016

Our little school has an annual Fun Run event each year to raise money for campus improvements.  It is always a neat event that the kids get soooo excited about.  This year, the "Frosty Fun Run" was planned for January 28th.  I must admit that I was more than a little bit nervous about the kids running in frigid temperatures and feared that we would all freeze to death.  Much to my surprise, we have had an unseasonably warm January and it was around 70 degrees when the kids ran!  We were all sweating - who would have thought it?!?!

The boys did great!  I was so proud of them for running hard!

I didn't even recognize Drew when he walked up to me - ha!  Our room mom is super duper fun and had gone all out on getting the kids spirit wear.  They had colored hair spray, mustache sunglasses, necklaces, the whole nine yards.  ;)

His biggest cheerleader gave him a high five after the race was over.  :)

Drew's little class is so sweet!
Clayton Carpenter was all business!  That boy was stretching and getting set.  He was like an Olympic sprinter, I tell ya.  ;)

He finished with a smile!  Proud of him!
 The 5th Graders
These two are both the youngest of 3 kids, so they stick together!  :)
Owen really wanted to run a lap, so Clayton took him around after everyone had finished running.
The Frosty Fun Run was a smashing success!
