Easter 2013

I love, love, LOVE Easter!  We worship a risen Savior - there is nothing more worthy of celebration!  He conquered the grave, allowing us to have eternal life with Him in Heaven.  Hallelujah!

We started our weekend by dying eggs.  The big boys thought it was great fun!  We planned this activity to take place while Baby Brother was napping - this ain't my first rodeo.  Ha!

We attempted the shaving cream method.  Two words - Pinterest Fail.  Wah-wah-wah...
They looked pretty while we were letting them dry, but were totally washed out with barely any color remaining when we wiped off the shaving cream.  Bummer.
The traditional dye yielded some really pretty, vibrant eggs.
Owie got to pose with the eggs post nap time.  :)
On Saturday night we made Resurrection Cookies.  I love the way that this recipe tells the Easter story using ingredients, activities, and scripture.  But... they don't taste very good.  Next year, we will probably go back to the Resurrection Rolls and all of their cinnamon sugary goodness.  ;)

 Sealing the tomb before bed...
The boys woke up to their Easter goodies - Bible/devotional books, Easter coloring books, Phil. 4:13 iPower Bands, book marks, stickers, books, yo-yos, and candy.

They got to open the "tomb" and check on our cookies.
The inside is empty - He is risen!
We donned our Easter frocks and went to church.  :)

As they entered the tomb, they saw a young man dressed in a white robe sitting on the right side, and they were alarmed.  "Don't be alarmed," he said. "You are looking for Jesus the Nazarene, who was crucified. He has risen! He is not here. See the place where they laid him.  But go, tell his disciples and Peter, 'He is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him, just as he told you.' "
Mark 16:5-7
