Owen Chattering

There are several fun events that I am anxious to blog about, and I have a list a mile long of "mommy work" that I should be doing right now.  But... I just took a sweet video of my littlest fella chattering away and it is too cute not to share.  :)

Here is the video:

Owen has just had a major language explosion over the last month or so.  He picks up new words every day and will try to repeat anything that we say.  Sometimes he still sounds like he is speaking in tongues (as in, he needs an interpreter), but most of the time it is decipherable.  Ha!

He started off saying Ma-ma, Da-da, uh-oh, ba-ba, etc.  Then about a month ago, he learned "Wow!,  Whoa!, Cool!,  and Eat."  Can you tell that his brothers were doing most of the language teaching???  ;)  From there he just took off with his words.  He says "Mel-mo" just like Clayton and Drew did.  What is it about that little red monster that is so appealing to the toddler population?  It takes me back to their toddlerhood every time that he says it.

Just yesterday, he bumped his head and said (very matter-of-factly) "Ow."  It sounded so cute coming from his little mouth.

I know that when I make this blog into a book, these videos won't transfer.  So, I'm going to make a list of the words that he said, for the sake of keeping accurate childhood records.  Ha!

1.  Wow
2.  Whoa
3.  Cool
4.  Bite
5.  See
6.  Ma-ma
7.  Da-da
8.  Clayton
9.  Drew (sounds like "grew" or "goo")
10.  Uh-oh
11.  Ball
12.  Elmo
13.  Eat
14.  Cracker
15.  Cookie

We love the sound of our sweet Babe's voice and look forward to communicating verbally with him more and more each day.  :)
