Bambi Legs

I'm kind of a stickler when it comes to baby milestones.  I don't count it until it is legit.  They have to be able to sit up independently for more than a few seconds before I say they are sitting up, the tooth has to break through the gum before I count it as coming in, they have to be able to crawl on hands and knees (no army crawl) before I promote them as a crawler, they have to say the word audibly more than once for me to count it as their first word, etc.  I guess that's just my black & white, rule-follower side coming through.  ;)

My little Owen has been taking a step or two here and there for the last few weeks, but never really stable enough for it to "count."  :)  He would take a step and then just lunge forward and fall.  Or he would take a step and immediately fall to the floor and take off crawling.

Last night, however, it became obvious that this milestone was no longer in the grey area.  He started taking 3-5 steps at a time.  I ran to get the video camera to document his progress.  As soon as that little stinker saw me holding the video camera and my cell phone, he made a bee line and walked all the way across the room to me.  Ha!  The mini-fit at the end was because I wouldn't give him the video camera.  ;)

Here he is in all of his sweet, Bambi legs goodness...

Watch out world, here he comes!!!!
