Home School Day at the Zoo

On Thursday, we loaded up and went to the Fort Worth Zoo for Home School Day at the Zoo. We went with the Hunt girls and another family from our church that also home schools. The boys had a blast!

There were "zookeeper chats" scheduled throughout the day and a live animal program for the children to attend. We saw tons of kids from Clayton's school and several other families from church as well. Clayton loved seeing his school buddies outside of their usual environment - there were lots of high fives and side hugs. Ha!
Drew really liked the turtles. All of those exotic animals and the turtles were his favorite. Go figure... :)

The boys got to pet a rat snake. I made the mistake of calling it a rattlesnake, and the zookeeper quickly corrected me. Ooops! ;)
Baby Blue Eyes was just along for the ride. God bless him for being the trooper that he is!
This is a random picture, but it made me giggle because it reminded me of the Olan Mills portraits from when we were kids. Shout out to children of the 80s. Ha!

It was half past Drew's nap, and he wasn't feeling the picture taking vibe. Oh well...

Clayton and L - they are sweet little buddies.
The lion was putting on a show - roaring super loud. I've never seen anything like it.

This baby monkey was just precious!

The zoo's monkeys with my littlest monkeys :)

It was a wild time with my crazy crew! The planning, packing, preparing, head counting, and coordinating sometimes seems like it is just too much work for an outing like this. But, at the end of the day, it is all worth it to see my kids having a good time. We're making memories, right? ;)
