Kid Funnies

Man, I have become quite the blog slacker these days! Life is moving at warp speed, and I am just hanging on and trying to enjoy the ride. ;)

I did want to document a few funny things that the kids have said lately, though.

Clayton was talking the other night at dinner about what he wanted to be when he grew up.
Clayton: When I grow up, I want to be a dinosaur finder, a basketball player, a robot builder, the President, a football player, a scientist, and an inventor.
Wade: Wow, Son, it sounds like you will be very, very busy!
Clayton: Well, being the President will only take 4 years.

Clearly, he doesn't seem to confident in his chances at a second term. Ha!

Drew calls anything with stripes a "rainbow." I put it all together the other day when he was pointing at Ernie's shirt and said, "rainbow." Then I realized that he said the same time every time that I put his socks on. He points to the ribbing on the cuff and says, "rainbow." It is one of those quirky kid things that are too cute to correct. :)

Lest you think that things are all rainbows and sunshine at the Carpenter household, here is the prayer that Clayton said the other night:

Dear God, thank you for this day. Thank you for your love and your grace. Thank you for my family and for all of our friends. Please help us to have a big, strong baby girl in Mommy's tummy. Help us to have a good day tomorrow and for Mama not to lose her ever lovin' mind! Amen.

(I, of course, have no earthly idea where he heard the term "lose my ever lovin' mind.")

These two sure do keep me on my toes! I can't wait to see what another monkey will bring to the mix. :)
