Home for the Holidays

I love seeing how other people decorate their homes for the holidays. Don't you? I just love this time of year - so cheerful! I think that the Christmas decor just adds to the warm fuzzy feeling that December brings. I love everything about it!

This year we (and by "we" I mean Wade) decorated the weekend before we left for Sea World. That would have been November 20th, thankyouverymuch. I couldn't believe that he was so inspired to decorate that early. It was still a week before Thanksgiving, for Pete's sake... I told him, "Babe, I'm just not feelin' it right now." But, he was bound and determined to get out all of our Christmas decorations. So, he put up and decorated both trees and did all of the garland on the stairs. I did the dining room, nativities, and mantle, but he did the vast majority of the hard work. Bless his heart.

We didn't change much from last year's decorations. I embroidered our names on our stockings, added some ribbon to our big tree, and made a few wreaths. Other than that, our house looks pretty similar to last December.

Oh how I love walking in that front (or back) door and seeing Christmas decorations.... I'm going to be sad to take it all down. :(

I still have GOBS to do before Christmas. I'm having some serious issues with our Christmas card. There is a very good chance that it may not come back from the printers before Christmas. Isn't that sad??? So... if you are waiting on your Christmas card from the Carpenters, I sincerely apologize.

To make a long story short, I ordered them online for a wonderful price. I was so thrilled with how much money I saved compared to previous years. The website said to allow 8-10 business days for delivery. I, of course, totally dismissed that as them padding the delivery time to avoid unhappy customers. When I got an email saying that they had shipped the next day, I was certain that they would be on my doorstep within the next few days. Well... 8 days later, I still don't have my cards. I looked for the contact information on their website so that I could call to see where my cards were. It turns out that the company is located in HONG KONG! Oh my gracious! So, I am now waiting on cards that are coming from Hong Kong via snail mail. Lovely.

At this rate, your cards should arrive in your mailbox by early February. Ha! ;)

Merry Christmas, Friends! (Even if you haven't gotten my formal card yet...)

I am sorry to be the friend with the BIG mouth who suggested such a website that is taking their sweet time with delivery! I know the cards will be worth the wait, though....hopefully! Ha!

I have clearly learned my lesson, about testing the product/service before suggesting them! Ugh!

Your home is sooooo beautifully decorated! I vote for it to be Christmas -Year Round- at the Carpenter's Casa!

Your home looks beautiful. It was amazing to see the changes from Christmas #1 to now. I remember the tree in the picture of christmas long ago. Wade is the best helpmate.
