It's A Zoo Around Here!

* Before you continue, I must offer up a disclaimer. I cannot be held responsible for any retinal damage that the SLEW of pictures in this post may cause you. (There are 21 - thankyouverymuch.) Consider yourself warned. ;)

We went to the zoo today & it was so much fun! I have taken Clayton to the zoo several times in the past, but we have always gone during the week while Wade was at work. Drew, of course, hasn't ever been to the zoo. So... since Wade has been traveling so much lately, he decided to take the day off and have a family outing to the zoo. Yay!

The boys did so good! We got there at 10:30 and didn't leave until almost 3:00. I didn't think there was any way that Drew would make it that long, but he took a nap in his stroller and was good to go for more fun.

Much to my surprise, both of the boys loved the birds. We almost skipped that part because I didn't think that they would enjoy it. However, we shelled out $2 for two popsicle sticks covered in bird seed and they were both in hog heaven! Clayton couldn't stop grinning and Drew laughed and pointed. All of the other animals were fun too, but we spent a good half hour with the birds. ;)

Can we just pretend that Drew's Mama didn't totally forget to put on his shoes when we left the house?
Umkay, thanks!

(See? I remembered shoes back when I only had one child.)

Drew was mesmerized by this bird
He kept pointing and laughing :)

Clayton is the "Lions" class at preschool, so he asked me to take a picture with the real lion to show his teachers
Clayton tried out his rock climbing skills. He was bound & determined to make it to the top and ring the bell. After two attempts, he only made it about halfway. He said, "Daddy, can we come back when I'm 5 so that I can try again?"

Clayton has the same wing span as a barn owl. Oh, the things that you learn at the zoo...

What a fun day with perfect weather! I can't wait to go back again. :)
